This lovely whorl is dyed in teal green and stabilized. It is set upon a Dymalux shaft in the Cocobolo color. The burl takes the dye in uneven ways and leaves some areas of the natural color behind. A truly stunning spindle that is reminiscent of Fiona's dress from the movie Shrek.

Eucalyptus comes from Australia and burl wood can be difficult to work because of the swirling grain patterns, eyes and voids. The color contrast is really interesting and the shape is a modified version of my signature Stiletto.
