Whorl is natural colored, stabilized ancient Bog Oak from the Ukraine. A nice piece of Moose Antler forms the bottom portion of the whorl and a 0.1 CT TW lab grown diamond set in 14kt white gold is the counter balance. A Dymalux shaft in the Charcoal color finishes this special spindle.
Ancient Bog Oak comes from trees that were buried in bogs between 2,000 and 5,000+ years ago. The piece in this whole was sourced from the Ukraine. The dark coloration is from thousands of years of absorbing minerals in the bog and is a natural color from that process. The spin on this spindle is divine and the whorl shape is a newer design. I called it the Audrey because it reminded me of a ballerina in a pancake tutu from Swan Lake or The Nutcracker.
This support spindle is crafted to be more than a tool—it is a true partner in the gentle art of hand spinning. Balanced, remarkably quick and with a glossy finish, it moves with effortless ease, spinning smoothly and steadily as fiber transforms beneath your fingers.
Designed to feel wonderful in the hand. Its graceful form offers both comfort and control, inviting you into the quiet rhythm of the process. The swift, responsive spin allows twist to enter your fiber quickly, making each moment feel fluid and intentional without any waiting for the spindle.
Thoughtfully designed, carefully made, and deeply satisfying to use, this spindle turns the simple act of spinning fiber into a luxurious, mindful experience—graceful, delightful and full of possibility.
