This orifice hook was lovingly shaped by hand, allowing the radiant character of the wood to reveal itself in its own time. A hand shaped stainless steel spring wire was bent to shape and adorned with purple Austrian crystals and pearl white beads.
Spalting is the beautiful, natural coloration and patterning in wood caused by fungi. It creates desirable streaks, lines and hues (like blacks, blues and reds). Maple wood, especially hard maple, is a strong, dense hardwood prized for its light creamy color, fine/straight grain and durability.
