This orifice hook was lovingly shaped by hand, allowing the radiant character of the wood to reveal itself in its own time. A hand shaped stainless steel spring wire was bent to shape and adorned with Austrian crystals and matte black beads.
The honey locust handle was hand dyed with a yellow dye to accentuate the natural coloration and chatoyance of this wood.
Honey locust wood is a dense, hard, strong and rot-resistant North American hardwood, similar to red oak in grain with with pinkish-brown heartwood. It has an attractive appearance and durability, though it's less common commercially due to scarcity. It is highly valued for its excellent mechanical properties and resistance to decay.
