The lower portion of this spindle's whorl is made from water buffalo horn. The upper portion is turquoise dyed and stabilized maple. While the maple shows a lot of character and interesting grain the inky black water buffalo horn is mostly consistent. It is highly polished and has a unique, warm feel. This is a complimentary pairing of quality materials and the use of water buffalo horn makes this very unique.

*No counter balance "beauty marks" (these serve to balance out any natural wood density differences and are necessary in about 75% of all spindles made)

This support spindle is crafted to be more than a tool—it is a true partner in the gentle art of hand spinning. Balanced, remarkably quick and with a glossy finish, it moves with effortless ease, spinning smoothly and steadily as fiber transforms beneath your fingers.

Designed to feel wonderful in the hand, its graceful form offers both comfort and control, inviting you into the quiet rhythm of the process. The swift, responsive spin allows twist to enter your fiber quickly, making each moment feel fluid and intentional without any waiting for the spindle.

Thoughtfully designed, carefully made, and deeply satisfying to use, this spindle turns the simple act of spinning fiber into a luxurious, mindful experience—graceful, delightful and full of possibility.
